Sometimes the only thing stopping us from taking the step we need to take is our own fear of possible consequences. They’ve stepped outside their comfort zone and from other people’s plans, they’ve pressed the big red button, and the world does not end. But, sometimes that ensuing chaos is exactly what the hero needs. Often the only thing holding a character back is the cultural taboo associated with pressing that button they think that chaos and disaster will follow. You know how in movies and cartoons there’s always that big red button-forbidden but tempting? SO, MAYBE IT’S TIME TO PUSH THE BIG RED BUTTON? It really hit home to me: I didn’t want to die thinking about what I could have done if only I’d had more trust, self-belief or courage. It has made me think more about what truly matters in life and how we must constantly remember to live life to the fullest. Recently I’ve lost several friends, all of them too young to die.
